driving at a Tyneside rugby club. Bailey Reed also pleaded guilty to being over the drink-drive limit when the crash happened at Kingston Park Rugby Club, in Newcastle, on May 25 last year.
Newcastle Crown Court heard the 21-year-old was behind the wheel of a Fiat 500 at the time and later gave a blood reading of 171mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood, when the legal limit is 80mg.
Reed, of Loansdean Wood, Morpeth, pleaded guilty to causing injury by dangerous driving and also driving with excess alcohol. Article continues below The court was told the defendant had
never been in trouble before and is in employment. The court was told Reed understood it was a "serious matter". The case was adjourned until July 22 to allow a presentence report
to be carried out.
