Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak is scheduled to train ahead of the mammoth encounter with Everton. The potentially season-defining clash could see Newcastle qualify for the Champions

League for the second time in three seasons. Three points against the Toffees would see Newcastle book their place in the competition next season while defeat or a draw plus the combination

of other results going against United could see them drop into one of the Europa competitions. But Isak's presence is deemed crucial with the man who has blasted 32 goals for club and

country this season is desperate to be involved. Howe, speaking to journalists at his Press conference ahead of the Everton game, said: "He is doing Ok. He has not trained with us yet

but he has made good progress through the week. "The next couple of days will be absolutely crucial. Until he trains with us we won't know how he will cope with the demands we put

upon us. "He’s made good progress and there’s a chance. He has to be fit enough to give his best for him to play." However, Brazil international Joelinton has been ruled out of the

game after failing to shake off a knee injury. Howe confirmed that the player was not available after having an injection. Howe said: "No, he won't be back. He's had another

injection in his knee, which was always on the cards potentially for him so he's in a knee brace as a protection from that injection. He's making good progress. We envisage he will

be back for pre-season with no problems." The other star who is in contention for the weekend is Kieran Trippier who has not appeared since the 2-0 win over Chelsea. Trippier has been

struggling with a slight muscle injury. Howe said he had a chance and commented: "He is in a similar situation to Alex and has not trained yet."
