A new date has been confirmed for the re-opening of a major road in Nuneaton nine months after it closed. Gipsy Lane was first shut back in February for major roadworks to take place.
Warwickshire County Council has confirmed to Coventry Live that it will be officially opened for use at the start of next week. A spokesman said that this is delayed as it was due to be
re-opened last week. But, as a result of utility works taking place in the area, it had to be put back to the week starting Monday, November 20. It will bring an end to the nine-month wait
for people to access the route that links Whitestone to Bedworth and the Griff island. READ MORE:DEAL TO SELL OFF LAND AND CAR PARK IN NUNEATON AGREED AS HUGE REGENERATION PLANS TAKE A STEP
FORWARD A Warwickshire County Council spokesperson said: "The road closure on Gipsy Lane was due to be removed last week. However, due to ongoing utility works it was necessary for the
closure to remain in place. "The intention now is for the road to be re-opened during the week commencing Monday 20 November." The major road closure was for the creation of a new
roundabout and ghost island junction to provide access for the new Bellway Homes housing development. FOR THE LATEST NUNEATON STORIES YOU CAN GET THEM EMAILED TO YOU BY SIGNING UP HERE.
