Bhatt begins the year on a cheerful note. For starters, her film, _Cabaret_ starring Richa Chadha, which had been stalled from its theatrical release for two years, is now being directly
premiered on the digital platform ZEE5. “I feel that in the times that we live in, the audiences are becoming more discerning in their choices and _Cabaret_ is made for a discerning
audience,” she says. This year will also see the _Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin_ (1991) actress return to acting after almost two decades with _Sadak 2_. When asked if she will be interested in
acting in a web series, she says, “I have an interesting announcement to make in association with a digital platform, but I don’t want to eclipse the launch of _Cabaret_.” As for _Sadak 2_,
Pooja shared that the film will go on the floors in April. “We will shoot from April to July, and the film will release in March 2020,” she informs. Incidentally, her father Mahesh Bhatt
also returns to direction after a hiatus of 19 years with the sequel. To a query on which other film of her dad, has the potential of being remade or having a sequel, she says, “I always ask
him why he has not looked at one of my favourite movies by him, _Naam_ (1986). I think what he achieved with the writer Salim (Khan) _saab_, is magical. I think if I just take my father’s
films and I do them again in this day and age, it will work like old wine in a new bottle.”
