contract would not be renewed after the WBBL Hurricanes completed a 2-12 season, but will continue to coach the Tigers until the end of the WNCL season.
Cummins said while there was an expectation that Price would pump more experience into young players, the former Test player would still have “full reign” over the Tasmanian side.
“She’s still the coach, we’re just not renewing her contract,” Cummins said.
“She understands the direction that we want to take the program, there’s a few girls who we want to see play more.
“The WNCL is still well and truly alive so it’s not a case of throwing out the season, but at the same time there are a couple of players - Erin Fazackerley and Courtney Webb are probably
the two that come to mind - who we think have got great potential to play for Australia and they need to be given opportunities.”
Price was appointed head coach in 2013.
