Marks and Spencer is well known for its Colin the Caterpillar cake range as well as its Percy Pig sweets. The range of Caterpillar cakes has proven to be very popular with M&S expanding
over the years. The line now includes a Connie the Caterpillar cake, jelly sweets, mini logs and the retailer has recently launched Colin the Caterpillar chocolate faces. You can even get
personalised Caterpillar cakes as well as buying Easter, Halloween and Christmas themed log cakes. However its newest launch consisting of two giant cakes has left shoppers with split
opinions. Taking to its Facebook page to announce the launch of its newest addition, the retailer posted a photo of the giant cake. They wrote: “Colin… but SUPER-SIZED! Available
exclusively online to collect in store, our GIANT Colin the Caterpillar cake (with a giant white-choc face!) will make your birthday extra-sweet.” The launch of the giant cake was released
to mark Colin’s 30th birthday after launching in 1990. READ MORE: M&S LAUNCHES PERCY PIG FIZZY DRINK INSPIRED BY THE FAVOURITE SWEET Another wrote: “I love M&S but come on … £45?” A
third commented: “£45 for a cake?!” The post has attracted hundreds of comments but some Colin fans were grateful for the new release. One said: “There is so much appreciation for
Colin…He’s gone GIANT.” Another commented: “We had this for our sons christening cake, it went down very well!!!” “Might get one just to myself,” a third wrote. To celebrate Colin’s
birthday in August, M&S Food bought out the brand new Mini Colin Faces. Costing £2 for a pack, the new addition contains possibly the tastiest part to the cake, the solid white chocolate
face. Customers can now purchase the Mini Colin Faces in their local store. As well as this, the retailer has also launched a Colin’s 30th Birthday Gift Bag for just £25. The set comes with
an assortment of different Colin products including three bags of sweets, the Mini Colin Faces and Mini Colin the Caterpillar cakes. You can even get your hands on a 625g Colin the
Caterpillar in the bundle as well as a tote bag. Posting on the M&S website in the review section, fans were delighted at the new bundle launch. One wrote: “Made the recipients smile and
really cheered them up. Cake as always was chocolatey and delicious. I thoroughly recommend this.” Another said: “Arrived right on time and the contents were perfect couldn’t have wished
for a better gift.” BREXIT BULLETIN: SIGN UP FOR OUR SPECIAL EDITION NEWSLETTER WITH EXCLUSIVE INSIGHT FROM THIS WEEK'S CRUNCH TALKS
