However, customers could still beat the crowds by avoiding the shops at certain times of the day.
Google data shows the busiest and quietest times for customers to stop by.
This may vary depending on the size of the store and area where it is based.
Opening times in most stores are normal which means customers can stop by whenever is best for them.
The supermarket is the quietest before 11am and after 8pm, according to the data.
Customers should avoid shopping after 11am on a Saturday as this is the busiest time.
In the early days of the coronavirus lockdown, the supermarket giant reduced its opening hours.
It has now extended times with most stores now open between 7am and 12am.
Asda stores are consistently busiest around midday during the week and at the weekend.
Shoppers could have the best chance of avoiding queues before 10am.
Most M&S Foodhalls are operating with normal opening hours so shoppers can get their groceries when it suits them.
Visiting first thing in the morning or around 3pm on a weekday is the quietest time.
Sainsbury's also reduced shopping hours when the pandemic first began.
However, these have since been extended and are mostly back to normal.
Its website states: "To reduce queuing times both inside and outside our stores we have been extending our opening hours.
"The majority of our supermarkets are now open from 07.00 to 22.00 and we encourage you to visit our stores throughout the day to avoid queues when stores open in the morning."
Customers wanting a quiet shop should visit the store midweek as it is busiest on a Saturday.
Supermarkets have continued to update their rules during the coronavirus crisis.
