Eugenie, 28, and Mr Brooksbank, 32, announced their engagement in January this year after seven years of dating, releasing stunning pictures taken inside Buckingham Palace. The royal couple
are said to have met on a skiing holiday in Verbier, Switzerland, in 2010. Speaking at the time of their engagement, Eugenie - who is ninth in line to the throne - revealed how the pair fell
for each other. She said: "We met when I was 20 and Jack was 24 and fell in love. We have the same passions and drive for life." And romantic Mr Brooksbank said that it was “love
at first sight”. He added: "I love Eugenie so much and we are just so happy and over the moon for what is to come.” During their seven-year relationship Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank have
frequently been pictured together as their romance has blossomed. The pair have been seen at events including Royal Ascot, Wimbledon, the Chelsea Flower Show, friends’ weddings and out in
London. Photos taken over the years show the happy couple smiling, laughing and holding hands. But Eugenie, who works as a director at art gallery Hauser and Wirth, said she was surprised
when Mr Brooksbank proposed to her, despite the pair being together for nearly a decade. She said: "The lake was so beautiful. The light was just a special light I had never seen. I
actually said this is an incredible moment, and then he popped the question, which was really surprising even though we have been together seven years. "I was over the moon. "It
was a complete surprise. But it was the perfect moment, we couldn't be happier." The Queen’s granddaughter has posted several pictures with Mr Brooksbank on Instagram since their
announcement. And Sarah, Duchess of York, shared five pictures of the couple on the social media site celebrating the engagement. Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank have already been seen at St
George’s Chapel, where they will marry, twice this year. In April they attended an Easter service at the Windsor venue alongside other members of the royal family including Eugenie’s sister
Princess Beatrice. And they were guests at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding at the chapel – which has hosted 16 royal marriages according to its website – in May.
