The comedy Wild Oats is now unlikely to be shown in cinemas here as prolonged legal action continues between distributors Sony Pictures and the production company, Wild Pictures. Also


starring Shirley MacLaine, Demi Moore and Jessica Lange, the picture drew a paltry £32,000 from American cinemas on a budget of £10million. The shortfall has been blamed on the producer


having allegedly breached contract by having the film, which lay on the shelf for nearly three years, debut on Lifetime Television in the US. The film about a woman (MacLaine) who


accidentally receives a Social Security cheque for a million dollars is now itself the subject of a million-dollar fight. The Big Yin, 74 – who filmed his role in 2014, shortly after


recovering from prostate cancer and having been diagnosed with Parkinson’s – takes the role of a playboy-conman who seduces MacLaine in an attempt to get at her money. He said: “It’s a shame


because I’m quite proud of it.
