Matt Hancock was live on BBC Breakfast to talk to Louise Minchin about the coronavirus pandemic, lockdown rules and responded to the row over inadequate free school meals parcels. However,

those watching at home were surprised by the location of the Health Secretary for the interview and tried to work out exactly where he was.  Minchin asked: “Let’s talk about the pressure [on

the NHS], we’re seeing over 1000 deaths reported a day, infection rates over 50,000 a day as well. Is this the peak?”  “I want it to be, but again it comes down to the behaviour of

everyone,” Hancock replied. “We’ve brought in this national lockdown, the rules are really simple; to stay at home unless you absolutely have to leave.  “I’m at home this morning, whereas

normally I would prefer to come into the studio.  “And this is important, we don’t say these things lightly, they are very important to try and get the number of cases coming down.  READ

on surfaces,” he continued.  “We can all play a part in making this happen - I know I sound like a broken record on that, but it’s so important, it’s true and together we can make this the

peak if enough people follow the laws which are incredibly clear.”  Minchin added: “Is this the peak? You’re not sure it is?”  “We don’t know,” the politician replied. “We publish the data

every day, I hope that it is. But we watch it like a hawk.”  “Watching #BBCBreakfast and asking myself, exactly how small is @MattHancock's office? I assume that's the door behind

him,” another tweet read.  Someone else joked: “Think we’ve discovered what is really behind the red door in the IT crowd. Matt Hancock. #BBCBreakfast.”  “For days now, Matt Hancock seems to

be taking zoom calls from a blood red room that I’d like to think is a study, but it’s more like a closet. Or, as my husband has suggested, he’s sitting on the toilet. #BBCBreakfast,” a fan

remarked.  Another viewer added: “Matt Hancock seems to do his TV appearances from a cupboard with photographs all over the walls. Is this a shrine to himself? #Mattscupboard

#BBCBreakfast.”  “@BBCBreakfast is Matt Hancock giving his interview from his downstairs loo?” a sixth viewer questioned.  Another joked: “@BBCBreakfast Why does he keep being interviewed

from his downstairs toilet?”  Elsewhere in the interview, Hancock spoke about the vaccine and whether it would be administered 24/7.  The Army has already been involved in the rollout and

Brig Phil Prosser, Commander, 101 Logistic Brigade spoke to Minchin later on in the show.
