Shane Black is one of the most fascinating directors working in Hollywood today. He’s currently hard at work putting the film touches on his upcoming The Predator film, which is set to hit
cinemas this September. Shane has been making a name for himself as a writer/director who’s able to come up with brilliant dialogue and well-directed action set pieces. He impressed critics
with his directorial debut, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. He then made a pretty big leap to the Marvel Cinematic Universe when he wrote and directed Iron Man 3 which is widely considered to be one of
the most groundbreaking Marvel movies to date. He’s now expressed an interest in writing and directing episodes of The CW’s The Flash and Supergirl. “You wouldn’t want to take a show that
already has a style,” he told Collider at San Diego Comic-Con. “Like Homeland is so great, I love Homeland, but you probably want to take something more like Supergirl. “And just do one
episode that’s just like, ‘What the…what?” said the Hollywood director. He continued: “Actually, one weekend I put it on, and for some reason, over the next two weeks, I watched the first
two seasons of Supergirl. “And actually thought, 'You know this is a pretty entertaining show.' And The Flash, same thing,” he finished. Shane has experience in the superhero
genre, so we would probably feel at home with The CW. However, his unique brand of writing and direction would be a bit jarring for some fans who have become used to The CW’s style and tone.
“I don’t think [my episodes] would quite fit the palette or the standards and practices review those shows undergo,” he said during his interview with Collider. Kevin Smith has directed
three episodes of The Flash in the past, and he seemed to fit in perfectly with The CW mould. In other Flash-related news, Danielle Panabaker will be directing an episode of the upcoming
season, episode 18 to be exact. This will be Danielle’s directorial debut, and the actress is hoping that she’ll be able to direct a few more episodes in the future. As for her Flash
character - Caitlin Snow - she’ll be attempting to find out the truth behind the real origin of her Killer Frost powers. However, Caitlin and the rest of Team Flash will also be having to
deal with season five’s big bad, Cicada. _THE FLASH RETURNS TO SKY ATLANTIC AND THE CW IN OCTOBER._
