The Gunners are currently embroiled in a fight to ensure they are playing Champions League football next season. At present they are just two points off a top four place and could also
qualify for Europe via a Europa League final win should they get past Spanish side Valencia in the semi-finals. Former Arsenal head of recruitment Sven Mislintat left in February and they
are still yet to appoint a replacement after missing out on former Roma chief Monchi who, instead of moving to the Premier League, opted to return to Sevilla - the club where he had
previously been so successful alongside Emery. However, even though Arsenal do not yet have a Mislintat replacement lined up to lead their transfer negotiations, Emery has still informed his
bosses at the Emirates of his summer transfer plans. With Aaron Ramsey confirmed to join Juventus when his contract expires at the end of the season, The _Telegraph_ report Emery wants a
box-to-box midfielder to replace the Welshman. The likes of Sampdoria star Dennis Praet and Cagliari ace Nicolo Barella have been discussed for potential moves. A wide forward is also said
to be on Emery’s list and Bournemouth star Ryan Fraser is someone who could be tempted by a move to north London. Fraser has enjoyed an excellent campaign so far under manager Eddie Howe
and, along with Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard, he currently has the most assists in the Premier League this season with 13. The Scotsman, who has seven caps for his national side, has also
been linked with fellow London giants Chelsea and Tottenham so it looks like Arsenal will face some stiff competition for his signature. However, if they secure Champions League football
then it will make them a much more attractive proposition to someone like Fraser, who discussions have been held over. The other area that Emery feels he needs to strengthen is at left-back,
with neither Sead Kolasinac or Nacho Monreal having been able to cement themselves as first-choice in that position. The likes of Leicester’s Ben Chilwell and Celtic ace Kieran Tierney have
been linked with a move to Arsenal but any transfer business the Gunners are set to pursue depends on the funds they are given in the summer.
