Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp could soon face a similar problem to Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea, with Saudi outfit Al-Ahli reportedly having made a bid for Thiago Alcantara. The Spaniard has

largely failed to live up to expectations during his Anfield career, which has been plagued by injury problems. Thiago only made 16 appearances in the Premier League last season without

scoring or providing a single assist, while he also missed a total of 19 games due to injuries. But that not stopped Al-Ahli from trying to bring him to Saudi Arabia, though, with

L'Equipe reporting that a £10.6million bid for Thiago has been made. Roberto Firmino has already left the Reds to join Al-Ahli this summer and it seems as though Thiago has been lined

up by the Saudi giants as their next high-profile target. He would join a number of former Premier League stars, including the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Edouard Mendy and Allan Saint-Maximin,

if a deal comes to fruition. However, an exit for Thiago would risk leaving Liverpool short-staffed in the middle of the park, with the six-time European champions having lost a number of

key midfielders over the last few weeks. Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have already moved to Saudi Arabia, while Naby Keita and James Milner have joined Werder Bremen and Brighton

respectively. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also left on a free and has travelled to Istanbul this week to finalise a move to Besiktas, according to The Times. Klopp would be left with just a

handful of senior midfield options if Thiago is sold as well, which could pose an issue for the Reds in the early stages of the new campaign. The Spaniard's exit would see Liverpool go

into the season with Stefan Bajcetic, Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Harvey Elliott as their options to fill the three starting midfield positions. Injuries to any

of those players would be cause for concern unless Liverpool can supplement their ranks by making at least one more signing before the summer window closes. Chelsea appear to be facing a

similar predicament at Stamford Bridge, with Mateo Kovacic and N'Golo Kante having left the Blues. A number of further midfield exits are still believed to be in the works, which could

see Chelsea left similarly short on the eve of the new campaign. Lewis Hall is said to be one of several players who could leave on a temporary basis, with the 18-year-old set to follow in

the footsteps of Conor Gallagher by joining Crystal Palace. Meanwhile, a loan move to Leicester for Cesare Casadei is also expected to be finalised after the Italian midfielder reportedly

underwent a medical at the King Power Stadium on Thursday. Chelsea will be left with just four senior midfield options in their squad if both loan deals go through, while Liverpool would

also be in trouble if Thiago becomes the next player to swap Anfield for Saudi Arabia. Both sides are thought to be keen on adding further quality in midfield and want Brighton's Moises

Caicedo, although it remains to be seen where the 21-year-old will be playing his football this season. WANT THE LATEST PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS AS WE PUBLISH IT ON _EXPRESS SPORT_? JOIN OUR
