New European service for Port of Miami Officials from the Port of Miami say a new service between Northern Europe and the U.S. South Atlantic and Gulf coasts will begin calling Miami on
August 2. CMA CGM and China Shipping Container Lines started the weekly EAG (Europe/America/Gulf)/Victory Bridge Service in June. The service now has a port rotation of Le Havre, Antwerp,
Rotterdam, and Charleston, the Mexican ports of Veracruz and Altamira, Houston, Le Havre. The Miami call would be added after the Charleston call. 'China Shipping Container Lines is
pleased to have another service call the Port of Miami,' said Zhang Bing, president of China Shipping (North America) Holding Co. 'This new call will allow China Shipping to
provide services from the Far East, Mediterranean and now, Northern Europe.' CMA CGM also a previous tenant relationship with the port, operating its Cagema service between Miami and
the Caribbean islands. Added Port of Miami interim director Bill Johnson: 'In keeping with our commitment of providing services facilitating international business at a level second
to none, we are please CMA CGM and China Shipping recognize the Port of Miami as the preferred chose for their new service offering weekly calls to and from the Port of Miami.' When
the service begins calling Miami, vessels will use the Port of Miami Terminal Operating Company (POMTOC) terminal, and the stevedore services will be provided by Eller ITO, port officials
said.
