THE TWO STARS WERE NEVER ONSCREEN AT THE SAME TIME DESPITE PLAYING A MOTHER AND DAUGHTER 14:17, 02 Jun 2025 A former EastEnders star told her fans that she ‘found her little girl’ in a
heartwarming reunion at the British Soap Awards. Winning eight awards at the annual event held in London’s Hackney Empire on Saturday (May 31), it was another big night for the BBC soap
celebrating its 40th anniversary. Steve McFadden, Anita Dobson, Patsy Palmer, Lacey Turner and Navin Chowdhry all took home awards as EastEnders was branded Soap of the Year for the 13th
time. With the majority of the show’s current crop of stars in attendance, Roxy Mitchell actress Rita Simons was there with her Hollyoaks castmates. Introduced in 2007 alongside Ronnie
Mitchell, played by Samantha Womack, the sisters were involved in a number of major storylines during their time on Albert Square. The pair lost their lives hours after Ronnie got married to
her long-time love interest Jack Branning, who previously had a daughter with Roxy, on New Year’s Day in 2017. Article continues below Following one of the show’s most infamous moments,
Rita went on to join Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks as Marie Fielding last year. Taking to Instagram to reflect on the night where Hollyoaks won three awards, the second most behind
EastEnders, Rita shared a snap of her and Ellie Dadd. The 20-year-old became the fifth actress to play Roxy’s daughter Amy in 2022, replacing Abbie Burke after eight years in the role.
Joined by Denise Fox actress Diane Parish, Rita captioned the post: “@elliedadd_ @officialdianeparish @jamie_b10 @oscarsamcurtis." Ellie said in the post’s replies that Rita and Diane
were her ‘mummas’, with Diane branding them ‘Fanthee Mummys’. Fans of the soap raced to the comments section to have their say on the wholesome reunion and once again call on Rita to make a
miraculous Walford return. @catherine_zucconi said: “Gorgeous. Lovely photos with both soap families.” @elizabeth_annexx__ added: “Roxy and Amy together mother and daughter.” @laceysidesx
