LATEST MANCHESTER UNITED TRANSFER NEWS WITH AN UPDATE ON MATHEUS CUNHA'S FUTURE 20:00, 31 May 2025 Matheus Cunha is still expected to become a Manchester United player, despite the
delay surrounding his proposed summer move to Old Trafford, according to the latest reports. Both United and Cunha are keen to get the deal done but the Reds remain locked in talks with
Wolves about how to structure payments for his £62.5million release clause. As reported by the _Manchester Evening News_ last month, Cunha is 'optimistic' about becoming Ruben
Amorim's first signing of the summer and strengthening the club's attack. However, it's suggested that the deal has been delayed, even if the transfer window doesn't open
until June 1. According to Fabrizio Romano, the issue holding up Cunha's move relates to attaining a visa. "Matheus Cunha to Man Utd is a here we go," Romano told his YouTube
channel. "Matheus Cunha to Manchester United is a done deal. But many of you keep asking me where is Matheus Cunha? In the sense that there is no medical, no deal signed, no official
statement, no formal steps. "My understanding is it's just about waiting for the Visa. So Cunha is waiting for Visa [to be approved] and meanwhile Man Utd are preparing everything
for the medical and contract signing, then for the sure the formal steps will be coordinated with the Brazilian national team staff because then Cunha will join the Brazilian national team
with Carlo Ancelotti (on international duty). Article continues below "So [Man Utd] are working on the location [for the medical], working on every single step including the Visa, but
Matheus Cunha will be a Manchester United player, don’t worry about that. "Also because Man Utd already started exchanging all the documents with Wolves after they triggered the £62.5m
release clause paid by the end of 2027 in instalments. So everything is agreed, everything is done, the player will sign a five-year deal with a one-year option. Cunha will go to
United." If everything goes to plan, Cunha is expected to slot straight into Amorim's XI and fill the left No.10 berth. He is well-versed in a wing-back system from his time at
Wolves, meaning it should be a seamless transition for him. Cunha scored 15 goals and provided six assists in 33 appearances during the 2024/25 season for Wolves, winning the club's
Players' Player of the Season in the process. His contribution helped drag Vitor Pereira's side from inside the relegation zone and into mid-table, although Wolves ended up
finishing down in 16th. After Wolves' final game of the season against Brentford last Sunday, Cunha issued an emotional message on Instagram, as he bid farewell to the club's
supporters. He said: "Wolves, what can I say to you? "What an incredible season. We didn't get to where you deserve to be, but we did everything we could to make you proud. I
love these guys."Individually, it was the best season of my life. All of this was only possible because of all the dedication and love I have for this club. I became the Brazilian with
the most goals in a Premier League season, along with @roberto_firmino and @gabriel.martinelli. "I made mistakes and got things right, but always because I lived this club so much. All
I ever wanted was to do the impossible for Wolves. Another one is over. And thank you all for all the affection. Looks good, looks fine..." --- _Here at The Manchester Evening News, we
