Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee sat for another interview on CNBC on Friday, where he was asked about President Trump's latest tariff threats. Having recently met with a number of
business leaders in his district, Goolsbee said the tariffs were fueling worries about the impact on local supply chains, but also hope that Trump could leverage them to secure deals that
open up new markets for U.S. exporters. At the same time, the Fed official warned that any new levies could put the central bank in a bind. Right off the bat, the bar for Fed cuts is "a
little higher."
