The Stoxx Europe 600 index fell nearly 2% to 539.60, after Trump said the European Union "has been very difficult to deal with," in a Truth Social post. "Our discussions with them are going nowhere! Therefore I am recommending a straight 50% tariff on the European Union, starting on June 1, 2025."
