The McWhopper campaign, where Burger King asked McDonald’s to merge their burgers in the name of charity and global peace, has won the Media Grand Prix at Cannes, adding to its earlier Grand Prix in print and publishing. Having already cleaned up at award shows around the world, the campaign was the first choice for judges in the Media section. Other winners in media included Whybin/TBWA in Sydney with gold for its ‘GAYNZ’ campaign for ANZ Bank and GPY&R Brisbane which also won gold for the Australian Road Safety Foundation for its ‘Life Saving Stickers’ work. Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney won gold in Innovation for its ‘Landcruiser Emergency Network’ concept.
