ABSTRACT THE present work was undertaken to investigate the effect of various human serum proteins upon the phagocytosis of _Staphylococci_ by human leucocytes, and in particular to show the effect of modifying the net charge on the serum protein molecule upon the ability of the protein to stimulate or inhibit phagocytosis.
