TEL AVIV, Israel-Nexus Telecommunications Systems Ltd. said it will deploy a two-way paging system for an undisclosed operator in Southeast Asia. The company values the initial contract,
which includes infrastructure and commissioning, at $2 million. “The Southeast Asia market is known for its early adaptation of new technologies,” said Amnon Shefi, president and chief
executive officer of Nexus. “We are excited to deploy our second system in this demanding market following an earlier deployment in Australia. We believe that these contracts will encourage
other carriers in the region to embrace our technology.” The contract excludes end-user units, which Nexus said will be purchased directly from Samsung Electronics under license agreement
with Nexus.
