US Ambassador to Japan, Caroline Kennedy, paid a visit to the Hiroshima museum depicting the devastation from the 1945 atomic bombing for the first time since she took office in 2013. She
said that she was honored to have been able to visit the place and appealed to work for peace. She further expressed gratitude to the people of Hiroshima for their leadership and moral
courage. Before visiting the museum Kennedy, accompanied by Hiroshima Mayor Kazumi Matsui, offered flowers at the monument for atomic bomb victims in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park.
