"Nobody should face discrimination and prosecution because of who they are and who they love," said British Prime Minister Theresa May addressing Commonwealth leaders in London.
According to a BBC report, May was speaking at a summit of Commonwealth leaders which is held every two years, when she said that she deeply regrets UK's role in criminalising same sex
relations in its former colonies. Theresa May said these laws were "wrong then and wrong now." She also said that UK is ready to support any Commonwealth nation that is willing to
reform any "outdated legislation that makes discrimination possible," reported BBC. The laws, passed under British rule, are still prevalent in 37 of 53 Commonwealth nations.
