A reward of up to $2,100 was offered Thursday for information that leads to the arrest of whoever used pesticide-laden treats to poison three dogs in the Otay Ranch area. One dog was found
ailing after its owner let it into a backyard April 7. A second family in the same Chula Vista neighborhood found their two dogs with similar symptoms six days later, according to Chula
Vista Police and Crime Stoppers. All three dogs later died. Authorities said the poison used in both cases was believed to be a pesticide that was hidden in hotdogs or a similar type of
food. Crime Stoppers initially offered a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in the case. The dogs’ owners and their friends later added $1,100, according to Crime
Stoppers. Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity or whereabouts was asked to call police at (619) 691-5151. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers. _—City News
