THE SWANS ARE ONE OF SEVERAL SIDES CREDITED WITH AN INTEREST 12:03, 29 May 2025 Swansea City are one of several Championship sides reportedly keeping tabs on FC Sion defender Gora Diouf.

According to FootMercato, the centre-back is attracting interest from a host of clubs across Europe following a strong season in Switzerland. The 21-year-old made 24 appearances for his

current club last season, and his impressive form has caused some to brand him one of the best defenders in the Swiss Super League. Indeed, he's become know as an aggressive left-sided

central defender, who's particularly strong in duels. _Sign up to the Swansea City WhatsApp service to get breaking news and top stories sent to your phone_ His contract is set to

expire at the end of June, and it's claimed his situation has seen him become highly sought after, with clubs in Turkey, France, and indeed elsewhere in Switzerland all believed to be

taking an interest. As too are clubs on these shores. West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United are among those named as possible admirers in the Championship, along with the Swans, who are

known to be on the hunt for a new centre-back this summer. Free agent Ricardo Santos has also been mooted as a possible target, although suggestions of a contract offer have been played down

by club sources at this stage. Nevertheless, there is clearly some eagerness to land a new centre-back this summer, regardless of what happens with out-of-contract star Harry Darling, who

is understood to be close to making a decision on his next move. The 25-year-old has been pondering an improved offer from the Swans over the last few weeks, but is yet to put pen to paper

on an extension. Swansea believe their offer is one of the better deals currently on the table for the centre-back, and there's still some hope within SA1 that he can be persuaded to

stay. However, confidence is waning with every passing day, and there is an underlying fear that newly-promoted duo Wrexham and Birmingham City, both of whom have shown an interest in the

defender, could yet blow them out of the water with a bumper offer. A decision one way or the other is expected soon. Sign up to our Swansea City newsletter here. Should he leave, Darling

could well be followed by several others, with Jerry Yates, Mykola Kuharevich and Florian Bianchini among those who would be allowed to move on should the right offer come in. Article

to be creative if they are to secure a reunion with striker Oli McBurnie, who is one of several targets the club are currently assessing. But while there could well be some enthusiasm to

bring the Scot back to SA1, finances are likely to be a key sticking point.
