couple dubbed 'Bonnie and Clyde' after an alleged eight-hour rooftop standoff with police have been refused bail during a foul-mouthed court hearing. Billy Baker and Tayla Gray,
from Townsville, were arrested after they allegedly fled to the roof of the Goleby's Basement pub on Brisbane Street, Ipswich, before 11am on Friday. The pair were seen kissing and
taking selfies while negotiators tried to coax them down from the roof. The couple, who separately faced Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday, were both charged with unregulated high risk
activities and obstructing police. Scroll down for video Gray was also charged with committing a public nuisance and wilful damage. Although the reason why the couple absconded to the
rooftop of the building, where Baker's mother is believed to live, is unknown - an officer confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that Baker was already wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Baker, 23, also faces a string of more serious charges including 11 breaches of his bail conditions. He is also charged with unlawful use of cars, four counts of entering premises with
intent, robbery with violence, and stealing,The Courier Mail reported. Neither Baker nor Gray, 21, applied for bail during the hearing. Gray, who works as a bartender, only responded with
'yep' when she was notified by Magistrate Virginia Sturgess she was being transferred to Townsville. But as she was escorted out of the courtroom by police, Gray was heard to say:
'What was that, are you f****ing serious?' Baker will also be transported back to north Queensland. Both Baker and Gray's cases have been adjourned until July 15. They are
expected to reappear in court via a video link from prison. At the time of their arrest Gray allegedly said 'f**k the dogs' while police attempted to negotiate with them. Officers
alleged the duo were armed with poles throughout the standoff. They were also filmed near to an air conditioning vent hugging and kissing while a helicopter circled them. At one point
Gray was seen standing on the edge of the roof while Baker rested his leg on the ledge. Officers managed to get close to the couple by standing at the top of a rear staircase in an
adjoining building. Baker was seen only feet from the officers and talking with them before walking back towards his partner and lighting a cigarette. It wasn't until around 7.40pm
that the duo were finally talked into surrendering, 9 News reported.
